The city of Pokhara is renowned for its setting rather than its historical or cultural endowments. Its quiet lakeside location and proximity to the mountains mean it is an ideal place for recovering from a trek, expedition or a busy life. Pokhara has some of the country's best accommodation and restaurants as well.

It is also ideal place to do a three to four-day "Annapurna Skyline Trek" around Pokhara without much exertion and going to high altitude. There are daily flights between Pokhara and Kathmandu as well as the road access.
